Growing up, after receiving a gift it was usually the card that I ended up keeping. Over the years my collection of cards from loved ones grew. I enjoyed looking back and remembering moments full of joy and love. Some cards were funny, some were serious, some reminded me of friends from the past. I was upset when I found out that my card collection was lost when my parents moved while I was away at college. Eventually I started a new card collection and as I got older I realize how wonderful it is to be able to hold onto cards from loved ones. From weddings, to baby showers, first birthdays and anniversaries cards can be a simple keepsake that you can hold onto for years to come.
Greeting cards are a classic gesture used for many occasions. My kids and I make homemade cards for others often. It all started when we joined a homeschool group and once a month we celebrate birthdays with homemade cards. We enjoyed making them and started making home made cards for our friends and families on most occasions.
I truly enjoyed making cards so much that I started to make home made water color cards for my adult friends and family. People truly enjoy receiving a home made card and this led me to think that maybe I should create greeting cards that others can share.
I love to create whimsical art inspired by nature and its splendor. Greeting cards are simple, yet they have a deep meaning. They can express empathy, hope, joy or any emotion you may wish to convey. I love pairing my art with this foundation in mind. A mushroom becomes an umbrella that shares sympathy, a group of mushrooms becomes a cupcake celebration of friends. Greeting cards are the perfect place where my art can come to life.
Cards are appropriate in a lot of situations. From hard situations to celebrations, a card can be just the right gesture to help you let someone know you are thinking about them. They are simple, compact, yet meaningful. I love creating art and putting it on cards that can help others find images that express their love, joy, happiness, etc. that they want to express with others.
